The car ride was tight and long; however, the stretching breaks were very needed as well. The car ride was filled with lots of laughter. The most exciting part of the day was the arrival. The room break was short but much needed. Then waiting for dinner was very tough but red robin was amazing! After dinner, we had a meaningful discussion of our hi and lows to wrap up a long day.
"Straight Savage, Crooked Savage" - Will Meredith
Today while entering Detroit, the low-income housing came into view. It was quite apparent from this that the people of Detroit were in serious need of our help. While being outside in the city and going to restaurants the energy from the city did not feel negative. I believe that God was present in the way that everyone was happy and having a good time despite the surroundings. All the Lutherans at the Restaurants were laughing and having a good time, and God was definitely there with us all and he allowed us to have fun and come together to enjoy ourselves.
